Our Kit includes everything you need to cure your own spicy bacon at home. Home-curing has been a popular trend over the last year or so, giving you the ability to make proper dry-cured bacon in the comfort of your own home. Curing is any of various food preservation and flavouring processes such as meats and fish, by the addition of combinations of, salts, nitrates, nitrites or sugar. The aim is to draw the moisture out of the meat by the process of osmosis.

Although it sounds complicated, it really isn’t! The process is so simple, and only takes 7 steps. The whole process takes 7 days and your Kit comes with an easy to read instructions booklet for you to follow. The Homemade Curing Kit… Spicy Bacon Ingredients: Allergens are in bold

Old English Cure – Salt, Organic Demerara Sugar, Juniper, Ginger, Nutmeg, Cloves, Black Pepper, Star Anise, Cinnamon, Fennel, Szechuan Pepper. Preservative: Sodium Nitrate.

Cotswold Chorizo Cure – Salt, Sugar, Smoked Paprika, Garlic Powder, Oregano, Chilli Flakes, Cumin, Coriander. Preservatives. Sodium Nitrate, Sodium Nitrite. Antioxidant: Sodium Ascorbate.

Q. How much Pork do I need?
A. You will need 500g Pork Belly for each 30g Curing Mix

Q. Does this Kit Include Pork?
A.
No. You will need to get your Pork from your Local Butcher or Supermarket (List of our recommended Butchers below). We recommend using Pork Belly, but Back bacon will also do the trick.

Q. How long does it take to cure?
A. The whole Bacon Curing process takes 7 days, but only takes 30 minutes preparation time.

Q. Can I reuse the kit?
A. You can reuse all the contents of the kit, apart from the cures. However if you would like the refill packs for our Spicy Bacon Curing Kit, then just contact us and we can arrange for you.
