The brand started life in 2011 as Ross & Ross Food with Ross Bearman and Ross Whitmill at the helm (hence the name). For eight years we created and grew our multi award winning food company. Developing our products, food gifts, street food and catering.
We made Pate & Terrines for the likes of Harrods and Daylesford. Won the BBC Street Food Award. Won many awards for our gifts, products and catering. And grew a brand where our products are sold nationally and internationally.
That exciting journey took us to some amazing places and now we have moved into a new direction.
2019 – A new start
In the summer of 2019 the company changed direction and the product and gift side of the business moved on from Chipping Norton across the Cotswolds to near Broadway. Starting out as Ross & Ross Gifts. Purely focused on creating more brilliant food products and gifts. This is a new company headed up by Ross Bearman.
So who is Ross Bearman?
I have been working with food for over 20 years.
I started my food journey in restaurants and hotels from an early age and developed my love of food, drink and cooking. I did a degree in Retailing and moved to Malmaison where I learned about classic French brasserie cooking and recipes. And incredible training from master sommeliers in wines and spirits. Eventually heading up the bar team and developing my cocktail and drinks knowledge.
I then moved to the Peach Pub company. Here I gained new food and drink knowledge where there was a strong focus on British produce. Using produce like fine British cheeses and superb meat from Aubrey Allen.
Next was Paxton & Whitfield. This is where I really started to understand fine foods, the production of artisan products and the finest cheeses in the world. Being a famous food business you could not be submerged into the artisan way of life and built a stronger love for food and especially British food.
Then, I co-founded Ross & Ross Food. My main role was developing the products. We always stuck to our guns and produced high end food products and gifts. It is the only way we know how to make food. Spotting a gap in the growing British Charcuterie market we developed our ranges of fine Pate, Terrines and Rillettes. Being asked by Harrods and Daylesford to create their own ranges was testament to our ability to produce high end products for some of the most highly respected food retailers in the world. This is just one of many products we made at Ross & Ross Food and the baton is now passed on where this ethos will continue.
And now I am the founder of Ross & Ross Gifts where I will continue to create and develop original and exciting food products. Using the best British and Cotswold producers. I will focus on developing the existing ranges of British Roasts, Home Curing, British BBQ, Food Gifts and our new Vegan & Veggie products. There are plenty of new products being developed so do watch this space. And sticking to our mission…
